After 13 years, I still get a real kick out of making work for The Springboks. SARU have been an amazing long-term client of mine since 2013. In that time, I’ve worked across numerous awesome properties; most notably the annual HSBC SVNS event. But, whenever the Boks are involved, it’s a special pleasure and a real privilege.
In this case, doubly so because of the quality of the opposition – the mighty All Blacks of New Zealand – and the unprecedented scope of the tour.
SARU approached me to write a series of radio ads to promote the tour. I called upon my friend and frequent collaborator on SARU audio projects, Myles MacDonald at HeyPapaLegend Studios, and we set to work creating a full set of ads promoting the nationwide tour itself, as well as the individual regional games.
SARU were so pleased with the full-length 90″ promo version of the radio ad, they decided to hand it to videographer Kirk Krotz to make a social video, which has been used extensively across the campaign so far.
