Boet Fighter: ALL The Videos!

AKA “Boet Fighter: The Game: The Movie!” Boet Fighter was (well, technically still is) a video game, first and foremost. It also became a social media phenomenon in South Africa, and an often-imitated comedy brand unto itself. But mainly, it was a game (one that even broke an iStore record and won a Loerie and some Bookmark Awards).

The trouble with that, though, from the perspective of being the Co-creator, Head Writer and Lead Voice on the project, is that the best content we made is hidden inside the game… you had to download the free version, then buy the full version, then actually finish it, in order to see the whole storyline unfold in the form of cut-scene cinematics. Which, percentage-wise, very few amongst the brand’s sizeable social-media audience actually did.

My creative partner in Boet Fighter, Louis Du Pisani (Co-creator, Artwork and Animation) and I are really proud of the little movie that played out within the game. So we’ve decided to release it all here… Klap it, boet!

Ooh! And let’s not forget the promo material while we’re here…

A great deal of the promo material – video and still – is embedded in and native to the game’s “Faceboet” page, and is thusly a gigantic mission to embed anywhere else. But, we do have some of the promo stuff (which was what made the whole thing so viral in the first place) on hand…

Boet Fighter is:
– Louis Du Pisani: Co-founder and Head of Art and Animation
– Gord Laws: Co-founder and Head of Writing and Voice

Boet Fighter (the game) also is:
– Niekie van Niekerk: Head of Dev
– Steve Pinto: Executive Producer
